Museum Bingo

Who’s ready for #MuseumBingo?

Calling all museum fans! Here’s a challenge guaranteed to make 2015 a little more fun. Whether you are someone for whom a week doesn’t go by without visiting at least one museum in their home town, or someone who reserves visiting museums as a holiday pursuit; whether you enjoy taking part in guided tours and events, or are strictly a ‘go at your own pace’ kind of visitor – Museum Minute, together with Museum 140, invite you to join us for a round of ‘Museum Bingo’!

MuseumBingo Scorecard

Taking part is easy! Whenever you complete one of the squares on the Museum Bingo scorecard*, just tweet about it using the hashtag #MuseumBingo, saying which square it is. If you’d like to share a photo too, that would be great – just post it directly to Twitter, or on another channel such as Instagram and then just share the link. Or if you have a blog, you could blog about it and share the link.

We realize some of the squares may overlap – e.g. you visit an art museum for the first time while on holiday in South America – so the challenge is to try and get a different museum for each square!

If you are not on Twitter but would still like to take part, you are welcome to post on your blog or other social media sites (Facebook, Instagram etc) – just let us know, and we’ll tweet about it for you 🙂

And, if you manage to complete an entire row – or even the whole scorecard?! –  don’t forget to shout BINGO!

Download your Museum Bingo Scorecard today!

*Since this a challenge for the whole year, you can also retrospectively count any squares you may have completed since January.

  1. This is such a fun idea! I look forward to completing some of my card during all the awesome museum tours at OMA2015 in Cleveland!

  2. I love the idea, but wish there were several bingo cards. I couldn’t ever win this game because I have not been able to go overseas for a long time. This game board is totally rigged for museum directors I think, as the rest of us don’t have the wherewithal to travel to Asia or Africa!

    • You bring up a great point, Melanie. Travel can be/is a barrier but it doesn’t have to make #MuseumBingo impossible. There are a number of museums around the world that offer online tours – I’m working on that post now. More to come!

  3. I really like this idea and it would be great to customize it for cities or small countries (as you’d have to be a museum consultant to be moving around the world visiting museums that much, or a very lucky/rich individual!) 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

    • Wouldn’t it be great if we could travel all the time? 🙂 I’m pretty sure all international flights would be full of museum professionals adventuring to see sites, collections & architecture around the world! I’m currently working on a post of online museum tours that can help in completing the #MuseumBingo card. Stay tuned!

    • Thanks for your comment, Hannah. Follow up posts are on the way to with tips on how to complete a #MuseumBingo card within the year. Enjoy the challenge!
